Convenience store hits second alarm in Girardville

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:25 PM on Wednesday November 28, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Girardville Fire Department to 146 North Second Street at the R&R Quik Mart for a reported commercial building fire. Girardville Police arrived on the scene shortly after the advisory and found a working fire from a convenient store attached to a two story building. Conveyor catches fire in St. Clair shop

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 2:45 PM on Monday, November 26 the Saint Clair Fire Department was dispatched with Saint Clair EMS to 300 Wade Road in their borough for a reported commercial building fire.  Chief 700A quickly signed on the air and was advised of a conveyor on fire in the building. The Chief advised communications he had a working fire with smoke showing while he was responding.  Units arrived on scene to find moderate smoke showing from the building with a conveyor on fire within.  A line was stretched off Engine 702 and quickly extinguished the fire. Schuylkill County companies take advanced RIT

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, November 18 crews from throughout Schuylkill County met at an acquired structure in the Borough of Gilberton to participate in the final day of Rapid Intervention Team advanced training.  The class was taught by Father Bill Glosser with help from Kevin Sibbett and Steve Schneider.  The class was open for registration for all companies throughout the county. Two jump from Pottsville house fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 AM on Saturday, November 17 the Pottsville Fire Department was dispatched to 101 North 16th Street in the City for a house fire with entrapment.  Responding crews were advised of two people reportedly trapped in the house. Units arrived to find heavy fire to the rear of a three story duplex.  Fire had consumed almost the entire “C” side of the house and heavy smoke was pushing from the windows.  Two people had jumped from upper floors to escape from the heat and flames. Deadly accident shuts down Route 61

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before 12:30 PM on Wednesday, November 14, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 4 (Fountain Springs and Lavelle), Ashland Rescue 38-50, Ashland EMS and Shenandoah ALS to 770 Fountain Street in Butler Township for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. First responding units were advised of an accident involving a car under a porch and a person pinned underneath a mail delivery truck.  Frackville Rescue Engine 43-10 was added to the alarm with the additional information received. Car hits bridge in Union Twp.

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 9:15 AM on Wednesday, November 14, Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue was dispatched with Ringtown EMS to Zion Grove Road and Ferndale Road in Union Township for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injury.  Shenandoah ALS was added to the assignment after reports of possible entrapment and an unconscious patient. Car takes out pole outside Mahanoy City

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 11 AM on Tuesday, November 13, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Mahanoy City Fire Department (West End and Humane) with Mahanoy City EMS and Shenandoah ALS to 1210 West Centre Street in Mahanoy Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Llewellyn fire destroys commercial building

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Early on Monday, November 12 Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched fire units to the old China Inn on Route 209 in Llewellyn for a commercial structure fire.  Units arrived on scene to find a working fire in the basement that was quickly progressing throughout the building.  As hoses were being stretched crews experienced a water supply issue with a hydrant.  Multiple tanker task forces were dispatched to the scene.  Fire crews worked throughout the night to contain the fire and were finally cleared of the scene after daylight broke. Mt. Carmel fire hits fourth alarm

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA – On Wednesday, November 14, the Mount Carmel fire department was dispatched to East Second street for a report of a dwelling fire.  First arriving units found smoke pushing from four homes.  A second alarm was immediately dispatched as crews began to attack the fire.  The fire continued to progress and eventually a fourth alarm was struck bringing in multiple units from various counties. Car rolls over in “The Patch”

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Wednesday, November 7, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched William Penn Fire and Lost Creek EMS to Mount Olive Boulevard in Lost Creek for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.  Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle rolled over in the roadway.  All occupants were out of the vehicle and refused any treatment from EMS.  E888 and B887 remained on scene while police investigated and had the vehicle removed.
