Mahanoy Area mock DUI accident

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Two cars collide, multiple teenagers are trapped in the vehicles, one teenager is thrown from the back seat through the windshield – she is dead on the hood.  A distraught mother rushes into the scene as first responders arrive.  The police arrest the driver of one vehicle, he was driving while impaired and more than likely created this disaster.  The poor decision of one person just affected dozens, if not hundreds of lives. Schuylkill County companies take advanced RIT

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, November 18 crews from throughout Schuylkill County met at an acquired structure in the Borough of Gilberton to participate in the final day of Rapid Intervention Team advanced training.  The class was taught by Father Bill Glosser with help from Kevin Sibbett and Steve Schneider.  The class was open for registration for all companies throughout the county. Firefighters from Englewood, Llewellyn, Mahanoy City (Citizens and West End) and Pottsville attended the class and were able to learn many tips and practice their skills.  Five situations were given to the class where they had to … Continue reading

Shenandoah goes to work on house fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 1:00 AM on Friday, July 6, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched to the area of West Penn and North Chestnut Streets for the report of a possible house fire.  Frackville Ladder 43-20, Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Nuremberg Ladder 581 were also on the first alarm with Shenandoah EMS. Helmet Cam Video: One trapped in Ringtown MVA

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 3:45 PM on Monday, May 14, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue, Ringtown Ambulance and Shenandoah ALS to Ringtown Boulevard and Pattersonville Road for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Medic 6401 responded and was advised of a two vehicle accident with at least two patients and one entrapped.  Medic 6404 was quickly added to the assignment.  While enroute, aeromedical was requested to be placed on standby.  All flight services declined due to weather. Man falls into hole, seriously injured

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before noon on Tuesday, November 8, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Shenandoah ALS to 215 West New York Street in Shenandoah for a traumatic injury.  Moments later, the rescue assignment was dispatched to assist with extrication.  The assignment included the Shenandoah Fire Department and West End Rescue 993 from Mahanoy City.
