Schuylkill County companies take advanced RIT

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, November 18 crews from throughout Schuylkill County met at an acquired structure in the Borough of Gilberton to participate in the final day of Rapid Intervention Team advanced training.  The class was taught by Father Bill Glosser with help from Kevin Sibbett and Steve Schneider.  The class was open for registration for all companies throughout the county. Ashland hits second alarm for three dwellings

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 10:45 AM on Friday, September 14, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched District 38 (Ashland Fire) to 1222 Spruce Street in Ashland for a reported house fire.  Ashland police were advised of the possible fire and Unit 41 arrived on the scene in seconds confirming a working fire.  PD stated flames and smoke were showing from the residence. Ashland garage goes two bells

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 12:48 AM on Wednesday, August 1, the Ashland Fire Department was dispatched to 16 North 12th Street in their borough for a reported garage fire.  Mt. Carmel Truck 2 (Northumberland County) was also on the first alarm.   Ashland Police Unit 42 was the first responder on scene and found heavy fire from a garage in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street.  Chief 38 arrived on scene shortly after and assumed command. MAYDAY declared at four alarm fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – After 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 31, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 sent the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department to 20 West Main Street in their borough for a reported commercial structure fire.  The fire was reported to be at Schuylkill Gun Works, a local firearms retailer. West Hazleton fire goes two alarms

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA –  Shortly before 5 PM, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched West Hazleton Fire Station 24 and Hazle Township Fire Station 10 to 201 East Green Street in West Hazleton for a reported structure fire.   Chief 244 arrived on the scene and found heavy fire showing from the Bravo side of a two and a half story duplex.  The chief assumed command and requested a second alarm be struck.   West Hazleton Engine 242 arrived and took the front of the building followed by Hazle Tower 107.  Crews stretched an inch and three quarter line and began an … Continue reading

Firefighters make quick work of Catasauqua fire

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 2 PM on Friday, firefighters from Stations 2 (Catasauqua) and 18 (North Catasauqua) were dispatched to 730 Third Street in Catasauqua for a dwelling fire. First responding units were advised the caller was reporting smoke and flames in the attic.  Lehigh County 9-1-1 was also advising they were receiving multiple calls reporting the fire. Crews arrived on-scene to find a 2.5 story apartment building with smoke showing from the roof.  A second alarm was struck for manpower.
