Firefighters make quick work of Catasauqua fire

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 2 PM on Friday, firefighters from Stations 2 (Catasauqua) and 18 (North Catasauqua) were dispatched to 730 Third Street in Catasauqua for a dwelling fire.

First responding units were advised the caller was reporting smoke and flames in the attic.  Lehigh County 9-1-1 was also advising they were receiving multiple calls reporting the fire.

Crews arrived on-scene to find a 2.5 story apartment building with smoke showing from the roof.  A second alarm was struck for manpower.

The fire was extinguished within minutes.  Crews remained on scene for close to an hour searching for hot spots.

Units from Coplay, Whitehall and South Whitehall Twp. were requested on the second alarm.
