This week I got out trackside for a few unexpected trips. On Monday I captured NS 4005 lead train 11Z South through Nescopeck, PA on it’s trip from Binghamton, NY to Enola, PA. Later Monday, I heard the RBMN Mountain Job getting track authority to go South through Gilberton toward Tamaqua. Today, word spread quickly that Canadian Pacific Heritage Unit 7015 was trailing on NS train 14R out of Enola. 2020 will mark 10 years of professional on-scene coverage for me and Fire & Film. To mark this anniversary, I have decided to make a series of videos looking back at the years. The first episode in this series is a compilation of many incidents I have covered since 2010. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks to see what will come next!

I have been busy covering more than just emergency scenes the last few weeks; I have also been out shooting high school football games! This past Friday I shot the Schuylkill Haven vs Shenandoah game and the Tamaqua vs North Schuylkill game. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – A Fire & Film photo has been used at the cover photo for the October 2019 edition of Fire Engineering magazine. The photo is from a multiple alarm fire in Port Carbon in February. More from that fire can be found here. For more than 140 years, Fire Engineering magazine has provided training, education, and management information for fire and emergency services personnel worldwide. Articles are written by experts in the fire service and focus on lessons-learned. Fire Engineering has nearly 50,000 paid subscriptions.

The Pottsville Fire Department welcomed two new pieces of apparatus Saturday afternoon. The Phoenix Fire Company and Humane Fire Company held a joint housing to welcome the new Ladder 68-21, a 2014 Pierce Arrow, and Engine 68-13, a 2017 Pierce Enforcer. The festivities kicked off at 1 PM with a fire apparatus parade throughout the City followed by a ceremony at the Humane Fire Company where members welcomed the apparatus. Government officials spoke kind words of the fire companies and fire companies thanked the officials for their support. On Saturday, September 8, 2018, the 2nd Annual “Give it Hell” 7K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run was hosted by the Nuremberg-Weston Volunteer Fire Company.  The 3rd Annual Event will be held on September 7, 2019.  Mark your calendars today.  Find the Facebook event here.
