Hazleton battles stubborn apartment building fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 on Sunday, December 2 Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched the Hazleton City Fire Department and APTS Medic 11 to the unit block of North Cedar Street for a reported residential structure fire. Chief 2 (Jones) went responding and was advised the center was receiving multiple calls for an apartment building fire with children possibly trapped at 53 North Cedar Street. Heavy fire from Hazleton dwelling
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 11:30 AM on Sunday, October 14, Hazleton City Fire was dispatched to the area 1st Street and Wilbur Court for an investigation. When City Southside Station signed on for the additional, they were told a call was just received for a structure fire at 525 Wilbur Court. It was unknown if the building was occupied at the time. Hazleton City finds camper fire with exposures
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Just after 8:00 AM on Friday, July 20, the Hazleton City Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Laurel and Noble Street in the City for a reported vehicle fire. A neighboring department unit was on the air shortly before dispatch reporting a large column of smoke in the same area. Wilkes-Barre fire goes “All Hands”
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 6:00 AM Wilkes-Barre City fire was dispatched to 216 Dana Street in the city for the reported structure fire. Responding units were advised that the 9-1-1 had already received over twenty calls reporting a working fire upon dispatch. The first arriving chief reported heavy smoke showing from a block away and immediately requested additional alarms as the fire had already spread to a neighboring exposure. Hazleton makes quick work of apartment fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 11:25 AM on Tuesday, December 13, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched Hazleton City Fire and Medic 11 to 359 West Broad Street in the City for a reported structure fire. Chief 2 and Ladder 1 immediately responded along with Engines 2 and 4. While responding, units were updated that police officers were on scene confirming a working fire. Chief 2 arrived on scene with smoke showing from a three story end-of-row building containing businesses on the first floor and apartments on the others. The chief established Hazleton Fire Command. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – A fire that broke out inside a school building in Mahanoy City caused significant damage throughout, cancelling classes. Mahanoy City firefighters find house heavily involved
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from Mahanoy City and Frackville were dispatched shortly before 3 AM to 915 East Pine Street in Mahanoy City for a dwelling fire. MCPD Unit 94 arrived on scene and reported a fully involved rowhome and requested a second alarm. Fire units arrived and the fire quickly escalated to a third alarm fire. First units used deck guns to knock down the bulk of the fire and quickly moved in to make an aggressive attack. The building was laddered and the roof was trenched.
