LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 7:30 PM on Tuesday, October 16, APTS Medic 11D was responding to an EMS call when it came upon a motor vehicle accident at State Route 924 and Interstate 81 in Hazle Township.  Medic 11D was reporting a tractor trailer had broad-sided a pickup truck in the intersection.  Hazle Twp. Interstate rollover for Hazle Twp. and Medic 11

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 8:57 AM on Sunday, September 9, Hazle Township Fire & Rescue was dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to Interstate 81 in the area of mile marker 143 southbound for a reported vehicle accident with possible entrapment and fire.  Medic 11B went responding and was advised of a 15-passenger van rolled over with unknown occupants trapped and the vehicle smoking.  141 Chief (Kostician) went responding and was told multiple calls were being received placing the incident somewhere in a three mile stretch.  On his way to the station, the chief found the accident to be at the 143 … Continue reading

Sugarloaf finds large fuel spill after MVA

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 6:00 PM, Sugarloaf Fire and EMS along with APTS Medic 11 were dispatched to Interstate 81 northbound at the 145.7 mile-marker for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Medic 11G and Sugarloaf Chief 1 responded and advised of a car versus tractor trailer with unknown injuries and fluids down.  Additional calls were being receiving reporting possible entrapment.  11G arrived on the scene and confirmed a car versus tractor trailer with everyone out of the vehicles. Hazle Twp. accident sends one to hospital

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 15:00 hours on Thursday, February 9 Hazle Township Fire & Rescue were dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to State Route 924 in the area of Chestnut Hill Road for the motor vehicle accident with reported injuries. Hazleton makes quick work of apartment fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – At 11:25 AM on Tuesday, December 13, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched Hazleton City Fire and Medic 11 to 359 West Broad Street in the City for a reported structure fire. Chief 2 and Ladder 1 immediately responded along with Engines 2 and 4.  While responding, units were updated that police officers were on scene confirming a working fire.  Chief 2 arrived on scene with smoke showing from a three story end-of-row building containing businesses on the first floor and apartments on the others.  The chief established Hazleton Fire Command.  Reports of possible entrapment were soon presented.  … Continue reading

Hazle Twp. finds car ripped in half, one trapped
