Lower Macungie accident injures two

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Around 6:30 PM on Tuesday, May 15, Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Station 66 (Macungie EMS) to Route 222 and Kressler Road in Lower Macungie Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Medic 6682 responded and was advised that multiple calls were received reporting a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection with at least two people injured.  Cetronia Medic 6291 arrived on the scene shortly after and reported a multiple vehicle accident with one vehicle in a gulley with multiple walking wounded.  EMS Command was established. Allentown investigates suspicious powder

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Hazmat crews from Allentown were dispatched late in the morning on August 9 to investigate a suspicious powder found in an envelope. The Allentown Fire Department was dispatched around 11:00 AM for a report of an unknown white powder found in an envelope received at a local business.  The business, Dorward Wholesale, was located at 1130 Hanover Avenue in the City.   Engine 5 responded and staged in a nearby parking lot while the Hazardous Materials Unit was requested.  Medic 4 also responded and staged in the area.   Utility 55 arrived on scene and four … Continue reading

Allentown fire hits 3rd alarm

ALLENTOWN, PA – A fire broke out in the third floor of a dwelling Friday afternoon.  City firefighters were dispatched around 3:20 PM on July 29 to 14th and Chew Streets for a dwelling fire with possible entrapment.  The box included Engine 4, Engine 9, Engine 10, Truck 1 and Battalion 2.  Apparatus responding from the Central Station reported smoke showing from 11th and Chew.
