Lower Macungie accident injures two

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Around 6:30 PM on Tuesday, May 15, Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Station 66 (Macungie EMS) to Route 222 and Kressler Road in Lower Macungie Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Medic 6682 responded and was advised that multiple calls were received reporting a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection with at least two people injured.  Cetronia Medic 6291 arrived on the scene shortly after and reported a multiple vehicle accident with one vehicle in a gulley with multiple walking wounded.  EMS Command was established.

Upon further investigation, 6291 reported one class one patient with a possible pneumothorax and a class three patient with abdominal pain.  6291 reported they were going to immediately transport the class one and let 6682 handle the abdominal pain.

The Pennsylvania State Police arrived and began to direct traffic and investigate the incident.  Fire Police from Station 30 (Lower Macungie) were requested.  3009 arrived and requested Station 25 (Trexlertown) be dispatched for fire police.  Rescue 3041 was also dispatched for spill control.

 

The traffic light at the intersection was also damaged and required fire police to direct traffic for an extended period of time.
