Tamaqua firefighters rescue one from house fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just after 10 AM on Saturday, October 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched a structure fire assignment to the area of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood Streets in Tamaqua. First responding units were advised of a second call reporting a fire at 20 North Greenwood Street. Chief 65-2 and Engine 65-12 reported a header from across town and requested it be repaged as a working fire. I have been busy covering more than just emergency scenes the last few weeks; I have also been out shooting high school football games! This past Friday I shot the Schuylkill Haven vs Shenandoah game and the Tamaqua vs North Schuylkill game. Fire & Film photo lands on cover of Fire Engineering magazine

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – A Fire & Film photo has been used at the cover photo for the October 2019 edition of Fire Engineering magazine. The photo is from a multiple alarm fire in Port Carbon in February. More from that fire can be found here. Second alarm called to Sugarloaf fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. – Around 3:40 PM on Sunday, September 29, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched Sugarloaf Fire and EMS to 110 Lakeview Drive in Sugarloaf Township for a reported house fire. 177 Chief was on-air shortly after dispatch and reported a column visible from a few miles away and requested the second alarm be added. The second alarm included units from Valley Regional, Hazle Twp., Nuremberg-Weston, Hobbie, Foster Twp. and Mahanoy City RIT. Firefighters rescue cats from New Philly house fire

Vacant Pottsville home damaged by fire overnight

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Pottsville firefighters were alerted to a house fire around 4:20 AM on Thursday, August 15. Firefighters were sent to the area of Second and Arch Streets in the City for the report of the back of a house on fire. EMS arrived in the area and confirmed a working fire. Pottsville Fire Companies house two new pieces with parade and ceremony

The Pottsville Fire Department welcomed two new pieces of apparatus Saturday afternoon. The Phoenix Fire Company and Humane Fire Company held a joint housing to welcome the new Ladder 68-21, a 2014 Pierce Arrow, and Engine 68-13, a 2017 Pierce Enforcer. The festivities kicked off at 1 PM with a fire apparatus parade throughout the City followed by a ceremony at the Humane Fire Company where members welcomed the apparatus.
