Two vehicles end up on their sides in E. Union

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 3:30 PM on July 19, the Sheppton-Oneida Fire Company was dispatched with Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue (in place of Brandonville Engine 9-14) and Shenandoah ALS to Main Boulevard and Pole Road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries involving a propane truck.

Engine 9-10 went responding under the command of Captain 9-91 (Schmidt) and was advised of a two vehicle accident, both vehicles into a wooded area with reports of a propane truck on its side.

The Engine arrived on the scene to find a female, a small baby and a dog sitting along the roadway as it approached the scene. All had suffered minor injuries. The crew split up to handle patient care.

The rest of the crew continued to find a two vehicle accident, a small two-door coupe versus a small box truck. Both vehicles were on their side and the truck was resting on the car. The vehicles had taken out multiple pine trees while crashing. The driver of the truck suffered multiple lacerations.

The engine crew remained on scene for over two hours while police investigated the accident and a towing company removed the vehicle.
