Bethlehem Twp. knocks fire down in minutes

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA – A  Bethlehem Township family was displaced from their residence after a fire broke out on the second floor.

 

At 7:03 PM on Thursday, May 27, Northampton County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire 14 (Nancy Run), 17 (Bethlehem Township) and 23 (West Easton) for RIT along with EMS 17 to 2011 14th Street in Bethlehem Township for a dwelling fire.

 

Chief 1751 went responding and was advised of reports of a dwelling fire at the address with flames showing from the second floor.

 

Captain 1454 arrived on the scene shortly after the dispatch and reported a working fire in a two story single family dwelling.  The fire was in a bedroom at the A/B corner of the structure.  1454 requested the 1st Alarm be filled out.

 

The first alarm brought in Engines 2711, 2713 and Truck 2721 from Palmer Township, Engine 1212 from Freemandsburg along with Engine 5312 and Rescue 5341 from Hecktown.

 

Chief 1751 arrived on scene and assumed command.  Engine 1712 was the first unit into the scene and was directed to take the address and stretch a line through the front door.  Engine 1411 was directed to grab a hydrant on their way in and feed 1712.  Truck 1421 was directed to the A side of the structure.

Within minutes of arriving on scene, the engine crew had knocked down the bulk of the fire.  With the quick work, the incident was quickly scaled back to units already on the road.

 

Firefighters remained on scene for over an hour performing overhaul and checking for extension.

 

No injuries were noted at the scene.
