Tri-Clover handles SWT auto fire

LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Around 7:30 PM on Friday, August 12, Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Station 26 (Tri-Clover, Orefield) to the area of PA 309 and Village Road in South Whitehall Township for an automobile fire.

Chief 2601 went responding and was advised that multiple calls were received for a passenger car pulled off to the side of the road that was on fire.  South Whitehall Police arrived on scene shortly after and advised of a working fire.  Upon approach, smoke could be scene creeping throughout the valley.

 

The chief arrived on scene and stated he had a working fire with smoke showing.  He then established 26 Command and directed Engine 2611 to pull onto Village Road.

 

Engine 2611 arrived and an attack line was stretched toward the vehicle.  The fire attack was initiated and crew members began to gain access to the passenger compartment.  The fire was knocked down quickly.

Crews remained on scene for over thirty minutes performing overhaul.  The South Whitehall Township Fire Marshal was also requested to the scene for an investigation.  The Pennsylvania State Police assisted at the incident as well.
