Shenandoah man arrested on arson charges

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Shenandoah Police arrested Felix Bermejo Wednesday afternoon after he was charged with four felonies for allegedly setting fire to his home in January.

Shenandoah Police allege that Bermejo lit his house at 322 West Penn Street in Shenandoah on Monday January 18, 2021.

Shenandoah firefighters were sent to the address at 8:41 PM and found a working fire with flames showing from the basement.

Lieutenant William Moyer investigated the case with the help of State Police Fire Marshal John Burns and Trooper Joseph Hall and determined Bermejo was responsible for setting the blaze.

Bermejo was arraigned remotely by Magistrate Anthony Kilker Wednesday afternoon and was committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 cash bail.
