Jeep crashes, traps one

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Monday, September 30, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 (Sheppton-Oneida), Mahanoy City West End for the rescue and Shenandoah ALS to 450 Main Boulevard in East Union Township for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Responding units were advised of a single vehicle crash with one person trapped in the vehicle.  Engine 09-10 arrived on the scene and confirmed one Jeep versus a rock with a male pinned under the dash. 2013 PA State Fireman’s Convention

CHESTER COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, September 28, 2013, firefighters from throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states gathered in West Chester for the 134th Annual Parade of the Pennsylvania State Fireman’s Convention.  The Convention was hosted by the Fame Fire Company #3 of West Chester who was celebrating their 175th Anniversary. Man rescued from vehicle accident in Shenandoah

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 3:30 PM on Tuesday, September 24, Shenandoah ALS and a Shenandoah Fire Department Chief were dispatched to 200 East Centre Street in Shenandoah for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.  The initial calls reported a two vehicle accident with vehicles still in the roadway. While responding, the call was upgraded to an accident with entrapment dispatching the Shenandoah Fire Department and Mahanoy City West End Fire Company for Rescue 993.  Medic 6403 and Marshal 742 arrived on the scene to find two vehicles in the roadway with minor damage to both.  One driver was … Continue reading →

Hazleton basement fire caused by arson

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Just after 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 22, Luzerne County dispatched Hazleton City Fire and APTS Medic 11 to 535 Grant Street in the City for a reported residential structure fire.  Initial reports were of smoke coming from an attic window. Girardville FD battles structure fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Thursday, September 5 around 6:53 PM, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 was advised by Ashland Police of a fire in Butler Township just outside Girardville.  At the same time, a call was received reporting a fully involved house fire in the area of 34 Rapp Road.  Fire District 45 (Girardville Fire) and Girardville EMS were dispatched to the scene.
