Driver ejected from pick-up in North Union

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 0001 hours on Sunday, July 17, Nuremberg-Weston Fire was dispatched to Buck Mountain Road at Truhan Lane for a vehicle crash with ejection. Engine 582 and 583 responded and were advised of a vehicle rollover with at least one person ejected and aeromedical on standby. Both engines arrived to find a large debris field approaching the scene from a pick-up truck that appeared to rollover multiple times before coming to rest off the roadway in a wooded area.  Crews quickly found one patient that had been ejected around 50 feet from the vehicle.  Engine 582 … Continue reading →

Schuylkill Haven FD lands two helicopters

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Just before 2PM on Tuesday, July 5, Schuylkill Haven Fire Department Stations 1 (Rainbow) and 2 (Schuylkill Hose) were dispatched to the White Church along Route 61 in North Manheim Township for a landing zone.  Crews set up a secure area for Lehigh Valley Health Network MedEvac 7 to land to transport a medical emergency.  While on scene, crews were advised MedEvac 1 would also be coming to the landing zone to transport a traumatic injury for neighboring Penn State Schuylkill.

One killed, one seriously hurt in Hazle Twp. accident

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 2:30 PM on Friday, August 31, Hazle Township Fire and Rescue was dispatched with APTS Medic 11 to Route 924 in the area of Interstate 81 for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Rescue 101 went responding and was advised of at least one trapped and unresponsive.  Multiple calls were being received and some stated one patient was possibly deceased.  Two Medic 11 units were on the way and requested aeromedical be placed on standby for the injured. Man falls into hole, seriously injured

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before noon on Tuesday, November 8, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Shenandoah ALS to 215 West New York Street in Shenandoah for a traumatic injury.  Moments later, the rescue assignment was dispatched to assist with extrication.  The assignment included the Shenandoah Fire Department and West End Rescue 993 from Mahanoy City.
