Mahanoy City strikes second alarm on rowhome fire
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 2:00 AM on April 6 Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Mahanoy City Fire Department, Frackville for their ladder, Mahanoy City EMS and Shenandoah ALS to 329 East Centre Street in Mahanoy City for a reported house fire. First responding units were advised that multiple calls were received for smoke and flames coming from the first floor of a rowhome. Assistant Chieff 455 arrived on the scene and confirmed the working fire with heavy fire from Side “A” and stated there was possible entrapment. Firefighter flown from scene of Hazleton fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, Hazleton City Fire and APTS Medic 11 was dispatched to 411 Kiefer Avenue in the city for a reported house on fire. First arriving units found heavy smoke filling the street. Chief 2 arrived and assumed command of the incident. Engine 3 pulled past the residence so Ladder 1 could take the address. 4 alarm fire with a jumper in Shenandoah, PA
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 3:20 AM on Saturday February 23, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Shenandoah Fire Department, Shenandoah ALS and Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 to 38 West Coal Street in Shenandoah for a reported dwelling fire with entrapment. Police and EMS quickly arrived on scene confirming a working fire in the middle of a row. The responders also confirmed entrapment with a female hanging out a third story window. Hazleton battles stubborn apartment building fire
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 on Sunday, December 2 Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched the Hazleton City Fire Department and APTS Medic 11 to the unit block of North Cedar Street for a reported residential structure fire. Chief 2 (Jones) went responding and was advised the center was receiving multiple calls for an apartment building fire with children possibly trapped at 53 North Cedar Street. Convenience store hits second alarm in Girardville
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:25 PM on Wednesday November 28, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Girardville Fire Department to 146 North Second Street at the R&R Quik Mart for a reported commercial building fire. Girardville Police arrived on the scene shortly after the advisory and found a working fire from a convenient store attached to a two story building. Trailer fire in Columbia County
COLUMBIA COUNTY, PA – Around 8:30AM Columbia County 9-1-1 dispatched Beaver Twp. Fire and Main Twp. Fire to 188 Scotch Valley Drive for a reported house fire. Nuremberg-Weston Fire was also requested for a full response. Crews arrived to find a working fire in a trailer. Main Twp.’s engine positioned in the driveway while Nurmberg’s engine took the address along Scotch Valley. A line was stretched through the front door to knock down the fire. Hazle Twp. finds fire showing from apartment building
LUZERNE COUNTY – At 4:57 PM on Tuesday, October 16, Hazle Township Fire, Harwood Fire and APTS Medic 11 were dispatched to 1143 Harwood Road in Hazle Township for a reported commercial structure fire. Hazle Township Assistant Chief 141-4 (Zoshak) went responding and was advised of a three story multi-family apartment building receiving multiple calls for smoke coming from the building. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, September 29, Fire & Film traveled to Norristown for the 133rd annual Firemen’s Association of the State of Pennsylvania Convention. Mutual aid training at County fire academy
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from the Citizens Fire Company of Mahanoy City and the Goodwill Fire Company of Frackville met at the Schuylkill County Fire Training Academy on Thursday, September 20 to have a joint training. Members went over all of the apparatus and got some time setting up and flying the aerials. Rookie members were put through a maze to familiarize themselves with zero-visibility conditions.
