Minor injury in West Mahanoy crash

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 11:15 PM on Thursday, May 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Altamont Fire Company and the Friendship Fire Company of Englewood to the area of 102 Morea Road in West Mahanoy Township for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Engine 367 arrived on the scene to find one vehicle versus a tree with one occupant self-extricated.  The engine crew checked on injuries and secured hazards while shutting down the roadway.  Engine 369 was directed to the area of the Altamont Station to shut down the roadway. Englewood houses Pierce engine

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, August 3, The Friendship Fire Company of Englewood hosted a housing ceremony for their 2013 Pierce Velocity Engine.  The festivities began with an apparatus parade commencing at 1:00 PM.  Over thirty pieces of apparatus gathered from surrounding communities to celebrate the housing. After the parade, the housing ceremony was emceed by fire company president Bill Blickley.  Plaques were given out to many different people and organization for their contributions over the years including Pierce representatives, the Ladies’ Auxiliary and neighboring fire companies. Frackville bagel shop burns

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – A few minutes before 8:00 PM on Friday, September 7, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 advised PD Unit 71 (Frackville) that a report was received of a possible business building fire in the area of the bagel shop at Oak Street and Lehigh Avenue. The fire department was dispatched moments later. The first alarm assignment included Frackville Fire, Altamont Fire, Englewood Fire, Tower 456 (Citizens of Mahanoy City) and Frackville Ambulance.   Unit 71 was advised that multiple calls were being received. 71 then called on scene and reported a working fire. Ashland garage goes two bells

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 12:48 AM on Wednesday, August 1, the Ashland Fire Department was dispatched to 16 North 12th Street in their borough for a reported garage fire.  Mt. Carmel Truck 2 (Northumberland County) was also on the first alarm.   Ashland Police Unit 42 was the first responder on scene and found heavy fire from a garage in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street.  Chief 38 arrived on scene shortly after and assumed command. Frackville & Altamont handle MVA at mall

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 3:00PM on Friday, June 22, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Frackville, Altamont and Englewood Fire Companies with Frackville BLS and Shenandoah ALS to The Schuylkill Mall in the area of the K-Mart Garden Center for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. MAYDAY declared at four alarm fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – After 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 31, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 sent the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department to 20 West Main Street in their borough for a reported commercial structure fire.  The fire was reported to be at Schuylkill Gun Works, a local firearms retailer. Four perish in Shenandoah fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 6:30 AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Shenandoah Fire Department, Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993, Frackville Ladder 43-20 and Shenandoah ALS Medic 64 to 119 East Coal Street in Shenandoah for a reported house fire.  All companies were quickly re-alerted for a working fire with entrapment. Ashland fire brings in two alarms

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 03:18 AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Ashland Fire Department to 1438 Market Street in Ashland for smoke in a dwelling.  Shortly after the dispatched Ashland PD arrived in the area with heavy smoke in the intersection.  The box was quickly upgraded for the dwelling fire.
