Tremont hosts 2016 Schuylkill County Convention
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – The Tremont Fire Company was the host of the 62nd Annual Schuylkill County Volunteer Firefighters Association Convention over the last week finishing off with a large parade of fire apparatus, bands, floats and other entries. The parade kicked off at 1PM and traveled through the streets of Tremont. Orwigsburg celebrates 125 years
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, October 13, the Friendship Hose Company #1 of Orwigsburg celebrated 125 years of service to the community. The festivities were kicked off with an apparatus parade through the borough. Residents came out to wave to firefighters and check out the units from throughout Schuylkill County. After the parade, visiting firefighters and residents came to the firehouse and enjoyed food and refreshments along with music provided by a disc jockey. Ryan Twp. accident claims life
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly before 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched units to Church Road and State Road in Ryan Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Fire Districts 6 (Delano) and 26 (Ryan Twp.) were due along with Ryan Twp. EMS, Luzerne County Medic 11 (APTS) and Engine 454 (Citizens – Mahanoy City). Responding units were advised of a car versus motorcycle with the motorcycle rider severely injured with a compound leg fracture and was located under the other vehicle. Schnecksville battles car fire
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from Station 22 (Schnecksville) found a fully involved car fire in a parking lot at the intersection of Levans Road and Coffeetown Road in North Whitehall Township just before 3:00 AM on Tuesday, July 5. Tanker 2221 arrived on the scene and stretched a hand line to knock down the fire. After the bulk of the fire was knocked down, a foam line was placed in service to extinguish a few stubborn hot spots. Crews remained on scene for approximately an hour. Six injured in North Whitehall MVA
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Six people were transported to local hospitals following a motor vehicle accident Thursday evening. Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Station 26 (Tri-Clover) and EMS 67 (Northern Valley) for two units just after 6:30 PM on May 26 to the intersection of Mauch Chunk Road and Cedar Crest Boulevard in North Whitehall Township. Chief 2601 (Johnson) went responding and was advised of a two vehicle accident with up to eight people injured.
