Fire rips through Palo Alto vacant home

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just before 1 AM on Friday, January 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm assignment to the 500 Block of West Bacon Street in Palo Alto for a reported house fire.  The first alarm included Palo Alto, Port Carbon, Pottsville Stations 30 & 60 and St. Clair for the tower ladder. Port Carbon Engine 59-10 and 59-11 responded immediately after dispatch as they had just returned from a fire alarm in their first due. Gilberton home destroyed in New Year’s Day fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just after 10 AM on New Year’s Day, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched a first alarm assignment to 128 Main Street in Gilberton Borough for a reported house fire.  The initial alarm included District 44 (Gilberton), Englewood Fire, Shenandoah Ladder 745, District 43 (Frackville) and Mahanoy City West End. Two perish in Wilkes-Barre Hi-Rise fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. – A fire broke out in the Lincoln Plaza hi-rise at the intersection of South Wilkes Barre Boulevard and East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre around noon on Tuesday, December 5. Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire showing from the fifth floor of the eleven story apartment building owned by the Wilkes-Barre Housing Authority.  Additional truck companies were requested from Kingston, Plains and Hanover Township as first responders found multiple people on their balconies. Fire damages multiple homes in Porter Township

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 10:30 PM on Saturday, December 2, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched units to the area of 333 Dietrich Avenue in the Orwin section of Porter Township for a reported house fire.  The first alarm included Porter Township fire companies as well as Tower City. Frackville firefighters fight Jeep fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 10:45 PM on Thursday, November 30, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 43 (Frackville) to 343 South Broad Mountain Avenue in Frackville for a vehicle fire. Engine 43-10 responded and was advised that the caller was reporting smoke coming from under the hood of a vehicle. The Engine arrived on scene to find an engine compartment fire in a Jeep.  A bumper line was stretched and the fire was quickly darkened down. Click here for additional photos

Fire rocks vacant Shenandoah dwelling

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – At 9:13 PM on Thursday, November 30, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 Block of East Lloyd Street in the borough for a reported house fire.  Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS were also due. Marshal 747 was advised by the County 9-1-1 Center that multiple calls were received reporting a fire in a house on Lloyd Street; an update was quickly given that police were on the scene and confirmed a working fire. Ashland fire destroys Arch Street home

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Ashland firefighters were alerted to a house fire shortly after 6:30 AM on Friday, November 24.  The initial call sent fire crews to 1237 Arch Street in Ashland after 9-1-1 received multiple calls reporting a house fire.  Fire District 38 and 45 were sent on the fire alarm. Chief 38 was advised of multiple calls reporting a house engulfed in flames.  The chief immediately requested a second alarm which dispatched Altamont, Gordon, Mount Carmel Station 2 and Englewood for a Rapid Intervention Team. Hazleton firefighters fight Thanksgiving morning fire

LUZENRE COUNTY, Pa. – Just after midnight on Thanksgiving, November 23, Hazleton City Fire and Medic 11 were dispatched to 265 North Wyoming Street in the City for a reported building fire. Chief 3 was on scene shortly after dispatch and reported smoke showing from a three story taxpayer at the intersection of Wyoming Street and Diamond Avenue.  The chief assumed command and requested a re-tone for a working fire. Hazleton makes quick work of Friday morning fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA – Just before 8:30 AM on Friday, November 17, Hazleton City fire was dispatched to 619 Hanover Court for a reported house fire.  Chief 3 was advised Luzerne County 9-1-1 received two calls for the incident however there was an address discrepancy and the location was possibly 619 West 4th Street.
