Driver escapes serious injury in Butler rollover

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – The driver of a Subaru sedan escaped serious injury Thursday night after the vehicle rolled over on Malones Road in Butler Township.

Around 10:45 PM on Thursday, July 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 4 Stations 1 (Fountain Springs) and 2 (Lavelle) with Englewood Fire, Ashland EMS and Ashland Rescue to the area of 253 Malones Road for an accident with rollover.

Crews arrived on scene to find a Subaru sedan on its roof in the middle of the road; the driver was still inside the vehicle but moving around.  Personnel assisted the driver out of the vehicle and into the hands of EMS who transported him to a local hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries.

The roadway was shut down for nearly an hour as the Butler Township Police investigated the crash with the assistance of Frackville PD.
