House fire quickly extinguished in Tamaqua

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 9:15AM on Wednesday, November 4, Tamaqua Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Pine and Biddle Streets in the borough for a reported house on fire.

EMS and PD arrived on the scene to find smoke showing from a duplex on Biddle Street, it was unknown if anyone was in the residence.  First responders quickly cleared the residence and found no one inside.

Engine 776 arrived and took the address while Engine 782 followed in and secured a water supply.  A line was stretched to the second floor where crews found the seat of the fire.

The fire was knocked down in 10 minutes and overhaul was initiated.  Crews remained on scene throughout the morning.
