East Union crash reported to have entrapment

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:19 AM on Wednesday, March 4, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 to the area of 489 Main Boulevard in East Union Township for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.  Mahanoy City Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS were also dispatched.

 

Chief 9 arrived on the scene with Engine 09-10 and Squad 09-70 and found a two vehicle crash with one vehicle on its side on an embankment.  Upon further investigation it was determined that all occupants had self extricated from the vehicles and were walking wounded.

Rescue 993 was subsequently cancelled from the call and Medic 6401 came in to the scene to evaluate the patients.  No patients required transport to a hospital and EMS went available.  The Pennsylvania State Police were on scene to investigate the crash.
