One ejected in single vehicle crash

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 1:43 PM on Friday, March 28, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 (Sheppton-Oneida) and Nuremberg EMS to the area of Nuremberg Road and Cove Mountain Drive in East Union Township for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.

Engine 09-10 was advised of a single vehicle accident, a car into the woods with unknown injuries.  The Engine arrived on scene to find a firefighter already on scene reporting the driver of the vehicle to be ejected from the vehicle.  The crash was also found to be in North Union Township.  Command requested Nuremberg Fire be dispatched and aeromedical be sent to the Nuremberg Park to transport the patient.

Nuremberg Engine 582 arrived on scene and the patient was packaged by firefighters and loaded into Nuremberg Ambulance 980.  APTS Medic 11 arrived on the scene and the patient was transported by ground to a trauma center due to all air craft being grounded due to weather.

The Pennsylvania State Police arrived on the scene to investigate the accident and all fire units were clear of the scene within the hour.
