One flown from rollover

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 2:59 AM on Wednesday, January 29, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 9 (Sheppton-Oneida) and Shenandoah ALS to 400 Main Blvd. in the area of the bottom of the Sheppton mountain for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Engine 09-10 arrived on the scene to find one vehicle rolled over into the woods with the driver self extricated.  Firefighters initiated patient care and controlled hazards.  Medic 6404 arrived on the scene and loaded the patient into their ambulance.  Upon further assessment, it was determined the patient needed to be seen at a trauma center.  Aeromedical … Continue reading

Englewood fire quickly knocked down

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 2:22 AM on Monday, January 27, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Butler Twp. (Englewood and Fountain Springs) to 717 West John Street in the Englewood section of the township for a reported house on fire.  Frackville and Altamont fire were also on the first alarm assignment. Truck travels over embankment on Frackville – St. Clair Grade

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Just before 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 25, Fire District 43 (Frackville), Englewood and Altamont fire companies were dispatched with Frackville EMS to the Frackville – St. Clair Grade (Route 61) in the area of “Dead Man’s Curve” for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injury. Heating unit draws 1st alarm assignment to nursing home

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly after 6:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 43 (Frackville) with Englewood, Altamont and Mahanoy City Tower 456 to Broad Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Frackville for smoke in a nursing home.  Shenandoah ALS and Frackville BLS were also on the assignment. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Friday evening, January 17, the Shenandoah Fire Department was alerted to an incoming box alarm at Poplar and Chestnut Streets.  No calls were received to the 911 Center to report any incidents in that area.  Crews loaded up and headed out to investigate. Sub-Zero temps hamper 2nd alarm fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:30 AM on Tuesday, January 7, the Shenandoah Fire Department was dispatched with Mahanoy City West End Rescue 993 and Shenandoah ALS to the area of 200 South Ferguson Street in Shenandoah for a reported house on fire. Multiple calls were received into the 9-1-1 center reporting a fire in the area.  Squrt 745 was the first responding unit and spotted a column of smoke pulling out onto Main Street.  Medic 64 arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire with fire blowing across the street. Two helmet cam videos: Ashland & Shenandoah Heights

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Shortly into 2014, Ashland PD Unit 41 radioed Schuylkill County 9-1-1 that he was en route to the 1300 Block of Walnut Street for a suspicious person possibly involved in drug activity.  Police arrived to find household belongings thrown about the street and the suspect gone on arrival.  The officer went up to the house and noticed smoke coming from it.  The door was opened and the officer declared a working house fire.
