Frackville crash slows SR61
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 6:39 AM on Wednesday, August 28, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 43 (Frackville), Frackville EMS and Shenandoah ALS to the area of 433 South Lehigh Avenue in Frackville for a vehicle accident with injuries. Responding units were advised of multiple calls reporting an accident with up to three vehicles involved and at least one person injured. Rescue Engine 43-10 arrived on the scene and found a two vehicle accident in the intersection of Lehigh Avenue and Laurel Street. Ambulance 4302 arrived on scene and initiated patient care. 59th Annual Schuylkill County Convention Parade
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, August 24, the Citizens Fire Company #2 of Mahanoy City hosted the 59th Annual Schuylkill County Firefighters’ Convention. A large parade was held to celebrate the event. Firefighters, community members, bands and elected officials gathered from throughout Pennsylvania to participate in the parade. The parade marched down Mahanoy Avenue and up Centre Street for a large gathering of spectators to enjoy the participants. SUV slams into home; injures driver and homeowner
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – At 7:37 AM on Tuesday, August 20, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 4 (Fountain Springs and Lavelle), Ashland Rescue, Ashland EMS and Shenandoah ALS to 920 Fountain Street in Butler Township for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. First responding units were advised of a car into a house with severe structural damage. It was reported that one person was ejected from the vehicle and was lying unconscious in the home and another occupant was trapped in the vehicle. 59th Annual Schuylkill County Firefighters’ Convention kicks off with Memorial Service
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – The 59th Annual Schuylkill County Firefighters’ Convention started on Sunday, August 18 with a Memorial Service in Mahanoy City. The service began with a procession from the Citizens Fire Company, the host of the convention, to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church on West Mahanoy Avenue. The entire Mahanoy City Fire Department was joined by companies from throughout Schuylkill County in the procession. Attendees were welcomed to the church by the pastor of the parish, Rev. Englewood houses Pierce engine
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – On Saturday, August 3, The Friendship Fire Company of Englewood hosted a housing ceremony for their 2013 Pierce Velocity Engine. The festivities began with an apparatus parade commencing at 1:00 PM. Over thirty pieces of apparatus gathered from surrounding communities to celebrate the housing. After the parade, the housing ceremony was emceed by fire company president Bill Blickley. Plaques were given out to many different people and organization for their contributions over the years including Pierce representatives, the Ladies’ Auxiliary and neighboring fire companies. Helmet cam footage: garage fire in Ringtown
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Just before midnight on August 1, Schuylkill County dispatched the first alarm to 22 South 4th Street in Ringtown for a garage fire. District 30 (Ringtown Valley), District 9 (Sheppton-Oneida), Shenandoah for Engine 742 and Squrt 745, Nuremberg-Weston, Mahanoy City West End for the rescue, Ringtown BLS and Shenandoah ALS were due on the alarm.
