Allentown fire hits 3rd alarm
ALLENTOWN, PA – A fire broke out in the third floor of a dwelling Friday afternoon. City firefighters were dispatched around 3:20 PM on July 29 to 14th and Chew Streets for a dwelling fire with possible entrapment. The box included Engine 4, Engine 9, Engine 10, Truck 1 and Battalion 2. Apparatus responding from the Central Station reported smoke showing from 11th and Chew. Battalion 2 arrived on scene with a working fire in a three story residence in the middle of a row. Chew Street command was established and reported flames showing from a third story window. Rollover causes large oil spill
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – A tractor trailer trying to merge onto Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township lost control and flipped onto its side in the early morning hours of Friday, July 29. The trailer was carrying over 7,000 gallons of used motor oil. As the truck careened out of control, it struck the median ripping open the tank and allowed the contents to flow freely. Tractor trailer lands on its side
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – A tractor trailer carrying cases of water flipped onto its side in Upper Macungie Township around 6:30 AM on Thursday, July 21. Chief 5601 came upon the accident on Nestle Way and notified Lehigh County 9-1-1 that he would need Fire and EMS services on the scene. Station 8 (Fogelsville), 56 (Upper Macungie) and 62 (Cetronia EMS) were dispatched for the MVA with rollover. Chief 5601 established Nestle Command and requested the first unit arriving on scene to initiate spill control. Victim takes off during water rescue
NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA – At 15:15 hours on Tuesday, July 19, water rescue personnel were requested to the Lehigh River in Northampton Borough for a water rescue. Fire 42 (Northampton), Fire 47 (Lehigh Township), EMS 49 (Northampton Regional) and Lehigh County Station 40 (Whitehall – Cementon) were dispatched. 4261 was on scene with a male in a white shirt in the river who had submerged under the water. Jeep cruises into Tamaqua home
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – Around 6:00 PM on July 10, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Tamaqua Fire Department, Citizens and South Ward fire companies, and Tamaqua EMS to the intersection of West Broad Street and Catawissa Street in Tamaqua for a motor vehicle accident involving a car into a house. First responding units were advised of a Jeep that had lost control and smashed into a house along Broad Street. Initial calls reported no injuries on the scene. Schnecksville battles car fire
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from Station 22 (Schnecksville) found a fully involved car fire in a parking lot at the intersection of Levans Road and Coffeetown Road in North Whitehall Township just before 3:00 AM on Tuesday, July 5. Tanker 2221 arrived on the scene and stretched a hand line to knock down the fire. After the bulk of the fire was knocked down, a foam line was placed in service to extinguish a few stubborn hot spots. Crews remained on scene for approximately an hour.
