Chicken truck rolls on interstate
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – A tractor trailer carrying a load of frozen chicken rolled onto its side on a busy interstate highway Tuesday evening. A tractor trailer traveling east on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township tipped onto its side around 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 31 just east of the Route 100 interchange. The Pennsylvania State Police were originally dispatched for the non-injury accident. Troopers arrived on scene to find the tractor trailer lying across two lanes of the three lane highway. Fire damages school, cancels classes
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA – A fire that broke out inside a school building in Mahanoy City caused significant damage throughout, cancelling classes. NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA – A Bethlehem Township family was displaced from their residence after a fire broke out on the second floor. At 7:03 PM on Thursday, May 27, Northampton County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire 14 (Nancy Run), 17 (Bethlehem Township) and 23 (West Easton) for RIT along with EMS 17 to 2011 14th Street in Bethlehem Township for a dwelling fire. Six injured in North Whitehall MVA
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Six people were transported to local hospitals following a motor vehicle accident Thursday evening. Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Station 26 (Tri-Clover) and EMS 67 (Northern Valley) for two units just after 6:30 PM on May 26 to the intersection of Mauch Chunk Road and Cedar Crest Boulevard in North Whitehall Township. LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Rescuers from multiple fire companies worked together to search for a missing woman along the Lehigh River in North Whitehall Township. At 8:25 PM on Wednesday, May 26, Lehigh County 9-1-1 dispatched Stations 12 (Laurys Station), 22 (Schnecksville), 67 (Northern Valley EMS), North Whitehall Rescue and Northampton County Station 47 (Lehigh Township) to the Treichlers Bridge on Route 145 for a swift water rescue. NOVA holds annual open house
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA - Members of the community came together on Sunday, May 15, to enjoy a fun-filled day at the Northern Valley Ambulance Open House. Attendees were treated to demonstrations, games, food and other information. Starting at 1PM, children were able to play games within the station or go outside and look at a group of fire trucks and ambulances. In one demonstration, members of the Neffs Volunteer Fire Company raised their aerial and rappelled from the bucket. West Hazleton fire goes two alarms
LUZERNE COUNTY, PA - Shortly before 5 PM, Luzerne County 9-1-1 dispatched West Hazleton Fire Station 24 and Hazle Township Fire Station 10 to 201 East Green Street in West Hazleton for a reported structure fire. Chief 244 arrived on the scene and found heavy fire showing from the Bravo side of a two and a half story duplex. The chief assumed command and requested a second alarm be struck. LEHIGH COUNTY, PA – Firefighters from Station 24 (Slatington) were dispatched shortly after 9 PM to the area of the Slate Bowl Bowling Alley on PA Route 873 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Northern Valley EMS (Medic 67) was also dispatched. Chief 2401 (K. Weaver) was advised of a two vehicle accident in the area with at least one person injured and the vehicles still in the roadway.
