Lansford fire destroys four row homes

CARBON COUNTY, Pa. – Just before 9 PM on Friday, February 2, Carbon County 9-1-1 dispatched units to 401 East Abbott Street in Lansford for a dwelling fire.  The first alarm included Districts 14 (Summit Hill) and 15 (Lansford) and Schuylkill County District 40 (Coaldale). First responding units were advised of a call reporting smoke showing from a residence.  Chief 1501 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire where smoke was found showing from a row of four homes at the corner of East Abbott and Powell Streets. Mahanoy City strikes second alarm for afternoon house fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – At 4:19 PM on Friday, February 2, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the Mahanoy City Fire Department to 508 West Spruce Street in the borough for a house fire. First responding units were advised the caller was reporting fire in the walls.  Assistant Chief 455 and Ladder 457 arrived on the scene to find smoke showing and confirmed a working fire. Mount Carmel fire goes 3+ alarms

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. – At 11:11 PM on Thursday, February 1, Northumberland County sent out a box to 317 North Hickory Street in Mount Carmel for a dwelling fire. First arriving crews found heavy fire throughout the rear of multiple duplexes in the 300 block of North Hickory.  A second alarm was quickly struck while Engine 1 and Truck 2 took the address and Engine 2 went to the rear.  Engine 3 secured a water supply behind Truck 2. Hazle Township battles overnight car fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. – Around 3:00 AM on Sunday, January 14, Hazle Township Fire/Rescue was dispatched with Medic 11 to Interstate 81 Southbound at the 143 Off-Ramp for a vehicle fire. Medic 11 arrived on scene to find a fully involved vehicle fire.  141 Engine 2 arrived on scene and stretched a bumper line.  141 Tanker also responded to assist.  Crews were clear shortly after 4 AM. Firefighters make quick work of Brownsville shed fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 7:40 PM on Sunday, January 8, William Penn Fire was dispatched to 1159 West Centre Street in the Brownsville section of West Mahanoy Township for a smoke investigation. Chief 888 was advised of smoke possibly coming from the roof of a shed next to this residence.  The Chief requested his engine be added to the response. Cold weather fires continue as home burns in Girardville

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Around 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 6, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched Fire District 45 (Girardville) and Girardville EMS to 261 5th Street in the borough for a reported house fire. Engine 45-10 and 45-11 responded and were advised the caller stated they were attempting to thaw pipes in the kitchen and now the wall was on fire. 45-11 arrived on scene followed by 45-10 who found smoke showing.  45-10 requested the working fire be transmitted and assumed 45 Command. Fire rips through Palo Alto vacant home

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just before 1 AM on Friday, January 5, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched the first alarm assignment to the 500 Block of West Bacon Street in Palo Alto for a reported house fire.  The first alarm included Palo Alto, Port Carbon, Pottsville Stations 30 & 60 and St. Clair for the tower ladder. Gilberton home destroyed in New Year’s Day fire

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. – Just after 10 AM on New Year’s Day, Schuylkill County 9-1-1 dispatched a first alarm assignment to 128 Main Street in Gilberton Borough for a reported house fire.  The initial alarm included District 44 (Gilberton), Englewood Fire, Shenandoah Ladder 745, District 43 (Frackville) and Mahanoy City West End. Two perish in Wilkes-Barre Hi-Rise fire

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. – A fire broke out in the Lincoln Plaza hi-rise at the intersection of South Wilkes Barre Boulevard and East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre around noon on Tuesday, December 5. Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire showing from the fifth floor of the eleven story apartment building owned by the Wilkes-Barre Housing Authority.  Additional truck companies were requested from Kingston, Plains and Hanover Township as first responders found multiple people on their balconies.
